Bank Vitold Biography

According to the official, the image of the World Anti -Doping Agency has been spoiled, and confidence in the department by athletes was lost. Bank also expressed intention to disclose many classified documents of the organization. The European Council decided to nominate the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Poland Vitold Bank as a candidate for the president of the WADA World Anti -Doping Agency.

At the last 30 meeting, the Bank received a majority of votes from representatives of 28 countries of Europe, ahead of his competitors, among which were Minister of Norway on Children and Equality, Vice President of WADA Linda Helleland 16 and Minister of Labor, Economics, Innovation and Sports of Belgium Philip Muers, which occupies a post in the Council of Founders of the international department 5.

In Warsaw, the Polish official expressed the intention to carry out serious reforms at the World Anti -Doping Agency, and also emphasized that at present the organization has significantly lost its authority and trust from many athletes. In particular, the summer minister emphasized the need for close cooperation with national departments and announced his readiness to declassify many WADA documents, which, in his opinion, should be openly available for the transparent operation of the organization.

The bathhouse also announced the readiness to create an international network of anti -doping agencies of all countries that are part of WADA to help the struggle against the use of doping. This is a big challenge, ”the official said. Bank has been held by the Minister of Sports of Poland since November, and in May he was appointed a member of the WADA executive committee. The elections of the new head of the World Anti -Doping Agency will be held on November 7 at a meeting of the Council of Founders of the Department in the Polish Katowice.

The current president of WADA is the summer British Craig Ridi, who has been heading the organization since January. In August last year, the official said that he did not intend to retain the post and announced his care. I can’t say that I would like to stay. The presidential post is almost definitely moving to the representative of the government of any country, since there is a rotation system.

The International Olympic Committee was interested in having an independent person, but I do not think that the governments would like it. So, on November 18, the Executive Committee of the International Department, based on the conclusions of the report of Richard McLaren, the report of the Independent Commission of the Agency and the testimonies of the former head of the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory, Grigory Rodchenkov, recognized the activity of the Russad not corresponding to the anti -doping code.

At the same time, the Russian organization set a condition for the provision of the WADA expert group of access to the database of the Moscow Laboratory strictly until December 31. However, Rusada in the deadline did not meet due to problems with certification of the equipment of group workers and provided access only on January 10 of the year. In connection with the violation of the deadlines against the Russian department, a next hearing was held at which on January 22 a decision was made to maintain the RUSAD of the status of compliance with the WADA Code.

It is interesting that at the last meeting of all 12 members of the executive committee, only one voted for the removal of the Russian anti -doping agency. She was Norwegian Helleland, who was one of the candidates from the Council of Europe. In addition, the Norwegian official said that Russia should compensate for losses incurred by the International Office in the process of anti -doping investigation.

Russia was deceiving the whole world, and all WADA resources day and night were aimed at investigating fraud instead of spending them on the protection of pure athletes, ”Helleland quoted the Norwegian edition of VG. She also noted that WADA conducts its activities at the expense of contributions, which are made by members of the organization, among which Russia is also listed.

However, subsequently in Rusada noted positive dynamics in the development of partnerships with foreign agencies. Even the Americans trust us - we tested them last year. At the moment, we are developing a positive experience. We took a step - we handed over the base. This is a real step regarding inaction, which was until September 20. I know many critics, and one of them was at our international conference, the head of the Dutch agency, and he gave an example that many countries work and fulfill WADA conditions, being under different conditions.
